Awake early to start your adventure. We start by exploring the beautiful tenth-century temple of Banteay Srei which is located 35km from the Angkor area. The temple’s remarkable state of preservation, small size, and excellence of decoration are said to be its special charm. Following a visit to ancient Banteay Srei, your next stop is Chau Srei Vibol - the petite, enchanting temple on top of a hill which is situated far away from the main tourist routes, making it relatively under-visited compared with more centrally located temples and bringing you a totally different view of temples in Cambodia.
Proceed to a house on the outskirts to enjoy lunch served by a local family, giving you the opportunity to talk with the village chief who survived the Khmer Rouge regime.
After lunch, visit the remaining ruins of Hariharalaya – the first capital city of the Khmer Empire in the Angkor region.
