Breakfast at the hotel.

Our cycling adventure begins at the hotel as we head towards the Mekong River. We will take a local ferry to cross to Arey Ksat and then continue our ride through the picturesque village along the riverside. During our journey, we will make a stop to visit a local pagoda and meet a family involved in silk weaving. Afterward, we will board another local ferry to cross to Koh Oknha Tei, also known as Small Mekong Island. Here, we will explore the island on our bikes, passing by beautiful villages and local farms growing crops such as corn, bananas, watermelons, tomatoes, and green beans. Our guide will lead us to scenic spots for photo opportunities and interactions with the friendly local families.

Continuing our cycling adventure, we will head to Koh Dach, or Big Mekong Island, where we will visit a local school and gain insights into the education standards in Cambodia. If our visit falls on a weekday, we will have the chance to meet some of the local children and learn about their aspirations in life. For lunch, we will be treated to a homemade meal at Bong Thea's house. Bong Thea, who graduated in Germany and worked as a German-speaking guide for over 20 years, has now retired from guiding and established her own homestay on the island.

After our satisfying lunch, we will be transferred back to Phnom Penh by a support vehicle. Upon our return, we will visit the Royal Palace and the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum for a deeper understanding of Cambodia's history and culture. Dinner at the local restaurant.

Ta Keo

Ta Keo

Start with a short transfer to Sáng, a local market located 25 km south of Phnom Penh. Start cycling from the busy market and observe the bustling trade that is part of daily life. Along the way, we will stop to visit local families and have some snacks. We will have lunch at a local restaurant when we reach Angkor Borei, and then explore the Angkor Borei Museum and the Prasat Phnom Da temple. Located atop the mountain, Prasat Phnom Da is one of the most significant temples in the region. It is an ancient temple dating to the Funan era of the 1st to 6th century.

I believe it is also the largest temple of this type. It stands alone atop the mountain and can easily be seen from afar if it was not shielded by trees.
